For those who are superstitious, the number 13 has a particular energy charge. Normally signs of earth such as Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn are often not very believers regarding these issues. Even so, our beliefs go far beyond the signs of the zodiac and have to do with our culture and way of life. In this article, we will do a little analysis about this very special day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beliefs:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

For Latin America, Tuesday 13 is the date of bad luck, while in Europe or the United States, is Friday 13. However, many astrologers tell us that we should not worry about any of these dates, since these define our fate. Anyway, here is a list of some historical facts that happened on a Friday 13.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. According to Christianity, Friday is considered a day of mourning for the death of Jesus of Nazareth<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. At the last meal, the thirteenth apostle, Judas, betrayed Jesus.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. In the eighteenth century, a British naval vessel was christened “Friday” in order to eliminate this superstition. Even his captain had his surname this day of the week so controversial. He left the port on Friday and never came back.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s arrives in Mexico, being the beginning of the end of the Aztec Empire.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Friday 13 of 1940: In the context of World War II, the Germans bombed the chapel of Buckingham Palace.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. In the Cordillera de Los Andes, a Uruguayan plane crashed with a total crew of 47 people. They stayed for 72 days under extreme conditions. Two of the survivors were able to find help after being thought dead. Only 16 survived the plane crash.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. King Philip IV of France, with the support of Pope Clement V, ordered the raids in order to arrest the Templars. This is the main historical event for which on Friday the 13th has so much bad reputation.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. The 13th was a sinister number according to Scandinavian beliefs and represented the Apocalypse.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. According to the Nordic legends, in a dinner of gods, Floki, the evil god, was the guest number 13.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Thomas Lawson’s book “Friday. The XIII “was a dark fable of Wall Street<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. Tupac, a famous American rapper. He received multiple shots in Las Vegas. Until today the reason for such death is unknown.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The number 13, what is its symbology?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    The number 13 is associated with the unnamed arcane in the tarot. I say “arcane without name” since it is popularly known as “The death”, when in fact, in the original card, only its number appears. This is interesting because it reveals a new interpretation. It is not death by dying, but it speaks of “transformation”. The 13 represents this concept of transmutation from one energy to another, and therefore, is not bad luck as everyone believes. This card is positive because it tells us that our consultant is going to experience a change that will make it grow. Remember that no change is easy, but if it is necessary to move forward. Change is a miracle that allows us to move on to new stages and experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

    According to numerology, the fact of being born under a number 13, tells us that there is a karmic \/ spiritual work that the person must perform. But this does not mean that it is negative, since there are many other karmic numbers that come to teach us different issues for our present life and the following ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The superstition of Friday 13 \/ Tuesday 13:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Beyond beliefs and historical facts, luck or bad luck is relative. It depends on our beliefs and the emotional burden that we as individuals attribute to that specific date or object. Let us not forget that many of us carry talismans of good luck. It is not that the object gives us good luck, but that it is the attribution of psychological value that makes that in particular represent that characteristic. I leave you with a story corresponding to the book “Light luggage” by Carlos G. Vall\u00e9s so they can reflect on good or bad luck:<\/span><\/p>\n

    A farmer lived in a small, poor village. His neighbors considered him fortunate because he had a horse with which he could plow his field. One day the horse escaped to the mountains. Upon learning the neighbors came to comfort the farmer for his loss. “What bad luck,” they would say. The farmer replied: “bad luck, good luck, who knows”.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    A few days later the horse returned with several wild horses. The neighbors went to the farmer’s house, this time to congratulate him on his good luck. “Good luck, bad luck, who knows,” the farmer replied.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    The farmer’s son tried to tame one of the wild horses but fell and broke one leg. Again, the neighbors lamented the farmer’s bad luck and again the old farmer replied, “Good luck, bad luck, who knows.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    Days later recruiting officers appeared in the village to take the young men to the army. The farmer’s son was rejected because his leg was broken. The villagers, of course, commented on the good fortune of the farmer and of course, the farmer told them: “Good luck, bad luck, who knows?”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
